Thigh High
As a fashion lover I always want to participate in trends. I pour over runway photos and street style images for inspirations and fall in love over and over. However, when it comes time to put said trends on my back things can go a bit wrong. At a mere 4' 9" tall, and NO WHERE as thin as someone of my stature should be, I'm not tall or waif-ish enough for most trends to properly translate. Add in the typical black girl "thickness" (read added weight in the thighs) and I usually feel things are hopeless. Anything pant related, forgetaboutit! But, foot wear was always my saving grace. Who cares if my arms are too fat, my thighs too full, my arms and legs too short, my belly too round, shoes always fit!! Chunky heel, skinny heel, bows, sequins, studs, flats, wedges, the possibilities were endless!!!! As long as I could find my size (which as the popularity of internet shopping grows is becoming increasingly easy, stores never have 5 or 5.5 in stock) I could be one of the trendy girls! So I developed a more "classic" style had spiced it up with shoes and accessories. Don't get me wrong I'm not completely out of the trend game, I live in leggings and slouchy tops. But then came the monkey wrench in my way of life.
The Thigh High Boot.
UGH!!!
THE hottest shoe trend for fall, and here I am with the legs of a chubby 10 year old! I saw the runway images and instantly I fell in love, and in the second instant became OBSESSED with finding a pair that would work on my body. As summer wore on the images kept coming. As did my heartache.

Sure I found some viable options, but as a fashionista on a serious budget (unemployed) I was limited by cost, and by my attitude that, despite my financial limitations, would not allow me to skimp on quality.
Then random success!! While out with my good friend Evelyn I stumbled across the Steve Madden Luxe "Lizzy" at DSW. It laces at the back, genius.
With that success I am determined to find another. A suitable heeled pair is now my current must have. Again I've found some suitable options but I haven't made any decisions yet. What I really want are these Report Signature beauties. That harness is doing something to me....

Celia is the fashionista of my world and I would wear anything she suggests, really. I too suffer from a tad bit of a short, stubby black girlish issue. Nonetheless again Celia saves the day with a great find. I might add that I am happy to be the tag along that was present for the great find. As always!
