Feeling Blue

The color on this dress is kinda awesome no? It's also totally sheer and I live for a sheer, flowy moment. 

To keep my lady bits covered I layered with a black tank dress, I think a white print would be kinda amaze in there too, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled. These are also my new favorite sunnies, can you tell? Ha! I'm a creature of comforts, they went in my bag and stayed there, I'll have to make sure I change it up next time.

Back before the NY summer turned melty I  snapped these pics. I stand of a pop of color. I confessed before that although in my head I'm all patterns and quirky girl, in my real closet it's sooooo solids. Lol! Hey, I'm a work in progress.

Suck The Head

So what seems like years ago (ok back in June) I attended to the 5th Annual La Tex Suck The Head Crawfish Boil. It's one of thoses events where yeah there's food being served but we're not really here for that. Booze and music are a little more the focus, and me and my lady friends danced until heat stroke set in. Not really, but you know we danced a lot.

Ok, I've been lazy. This party happened a month ago but hey, who's counting.  Below is a series I like to call "Taking a Selfie." We all do it I'm just the first to admit it. Your face never looks right the first time, or the second......or the seventh....

What to wear to a 90's party? Factor in being a shorty, natural blown out hair on humid/rainy day, and perpetual pile of dirty laundry and this is what you get!

Add favorite/handy jacket and go!

New New

Sweet sunshine!

On my daily commute to and from work I pass an H&M and most days I walk right past. One day I happen in and find this jacket. Last in my size, and I'm in love!

This quilting is amazing! I kinda feel like my granny quilted a snatch of fabric and then fashioned it into this super cute jacket. I may rip out the tags and tell my as yet unborn daughter that this is exactly what happened. Folks don't have heirlooms anymore, gotta make your own! 

Come Again Another Day

Spring has sprung in NYC and that means it's raining all the time. *sigh*

In real life I hate rain boots. They're hot, they bend awkwardly at the ankle, and usually ruin an outfit. Unfortunately in a city where your feet are your main source of transportation you most definitely  want to keep them dry. So I styled my outfit around the darned things and I felt pretty good. I did spend the day on my feet and they aren't made for standing, (add that to the list of things I don't like about them) but each time I ventured outside I had dry warm toesies! 

Soon the rainy spring will be over and the hot, humid hell-ish season that New Yorkers call summer will set in and anything more than a paper towel around your lady parts will be too many clothes.  Ahhhh sweet summer. Till next time!
